Work-Ordered Day
At Threshold, the Work-Ordered Day is the foundation of our program. It mirrors a typical workday and provides structure, purpose, and opportunities for Members to engage in meaningful work alongside staff. Through unit-based tasks, Members build skills, gain confidence, and play an active role in the daily operations of the Clubhouse. This model fosters community, promotes recovery, and supports personal growth.

Members in this unit develop essential administrative skills by preparing Medicaid billing, assisting with new referrals, ordering supplies, answering phones, and learning basic computer skills. A key responsibility is assembling the Threshold Times, our monthly newsletter. Additionally, this unit organizes community integration and socialization activities for Thursday evenings and Saturdays.

This unit is responsible for preparing and serving lunches daily. Weekly workshops offered by the unit focus on nutrition, wellness, and cooking to enhance independent living skills. The unit also manages our organic garden, incorporating fresh produce into meals. Members can purchase these meals at the subsidized cost of $1.00 (and meals are free on Tuesdays and weekends).

This unit focuses on developing employment skills. This includes resume building, job searching, interview preparation, and employment discussions. Members also gain experience running the Snack Bar. Additionally, this unit manages Threshold’s social media platforms, enhancing community outreach.
