The Board of Directors plays a crucial role in supporting and overseeing Threshold’s mission. Board members work collaboratively to support the organization’s growth and long-term sustainability. The full board meets monthly, and members are encouraged to participate in committees where their individual expertise can be effectively utilized. Board members also work closely with staff to address organizational needs, support fundraising efforts, and serve as dedicated advocates for Threshold’s mission.

Join Our Board of Directors

Threshold is seeking engaged, action-oriented leaders to join our Board of Directors and help strengthen the organization’s future. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about mental health and community inclusion, reflect the diversity of Durham, and are ready to bring their skills, connections, ideas, and energy to our mission. We value Board members who take initiative, follow through, and turn ideas into action to help Threshold grow and better serve its members. Board members actively participate in governance, advocacy, fundraising, community engagement, and strategic planning while helping create new opportunities for Threshold and its members.

The commitment includes one monthly Board meeting, one monthly committee meeting, participation in at least two in-person Threshold events during the Board term, and an average of at least five service hours per month. No prior Board experience is required-just a commitment to our mission and a willingness to get involved and make things happen.
