Clerical Unit

The Clerical Unit manages the administrative duties of the clubhouse, and teaches applicable job skills for future employment.  One member noted that this unit is "a very clericalcomfortable setting to pursue skills for later jobs".  Members learn to answer and transfer phone calls, create fliers for social-recreation events, and master word-processing and database programs.

In the process of learning these individual skills, clerical unit members provide essential services to the clubhouse.  They record member attendance and membership demographics, both of which are required for Medicaid billing. The unit also publishes and mails a daily in-house newsletter and a monthly newsletter sent to more than 1000 friends, families, and supporters, and posts this newsletter to our website.
