Supported Education

The disruptive nature of severe mental illness, combined with the Supported education low socio-economic background of most Threshold members, has prevented many of them from completing long-term education goals.  Threshold encourages its members to continue learning through educational opportunities such as computer courses, adult basic education courses, and a reading and math group. Threshold also connects members interested in completing their GED to appropriate community resources.”

Current Classes:

  • Reading and Math: Wednesdays at 1:00, taught by Durham Literacy Center volunteer.
  • Basic Computer: Tuesdays, 2:15
  • Advanced Computer: Thursdays, 2:15. Computer classes led by Threshold staff.
